The Loma Linda Ronald McDonald house is very near and dear to our hearts. This special home has personally helped our family in our great time of need. They gave us a loving warm place to stay, made us feel at home and provided the needed basic necessities at a time we were not thinking of them because we were only thinking of our child...
During the holidays, nothing seems to provide as much pleasure as giving. The Norco American Legion uses the Thanksgiving holiday to give back to the community in the form of a free Thanksgiving meal. According to event organizers this was the 18th year that Post 328 of the American Legion hosted the free meal.
We got a plea from Councilman Mann, who is also the Risk Mangager for MUSD, regarding the bond oversight committee. The Menifee Union School District needs our assistance. Despite several articles in The Californian, postings on our website, a letter from the Superintendent and even an announcement at the Rotary Club and other venues, we have received only two applications to fill seven positions on this Committee.
We've discussed city council elections BY DISTRICTvs AT LARGE on our forums, as well as at city council meetings, but the city has some real challenging decisions to make before the next general election in 2010, and they would appreciate your feedback. We were able to get Scott Mann to join us on last nights Menifee Matters on blog talk radio. The show is hosted by Therese Daniels and I've become a regular of late. The talk radio show has moved to Wednesday nights and you can check out the archive at your convenience.
In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast which is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. This harvest meal has become a symbol of cooperation and interaction between English colonists and Native Americans. The colonists had much to be thankful for. I'll share a little history about the proclamation, maybe you can share all that makes you thankful.
The Christmas in Menifee - Tree Lighting Festival takes place on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Mt.San Jacinto Community College - Menifee Campus
November 11 is set aside in commemoration of the end of hostilities in 1918 and 1945 and observed as a legal holiday in the United States to honor the veterans of the armed forces.
The Craft Fair and Chili Cookoff is a vision of Kathryn Lennertz the wife of our Pastor Steve Lennertz of Eagle Ridge Church. This event started as a small craft fair in a small room off of our church kitchen six years ago. It has now grown to the point that we really need to use our outside area for all of the vendors that come. We are excited about this.
