Every year, over 200,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed among women of all ages and races, that’s one women with breast cancer every three minutes. Regrettably, over 40,000 women die from this disease each year. Breast cancer, like other forms of cancer, has no known cure.
That's why a group of women from Menifee, Canyon Lake, Lake Elisnore, Wildomar and Murrieta are joining together to raise funds and walk 60 miles in the San Diego Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk in November. The group includes 4 local breast cancer survivors.
The women are part of a team Walkers 4 Life that will be walking 60 miles or 3 days to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Each walker is required to raise $2300 in order to participate in the walk.
Walkers 4 Life is holding a Bunco 4 Boobs fundraiser on April 11th at 2pm at Diana's Dance Company in Menfiee to raise money for their team's walk.
Entry in to the Bunco game is a $20 donation, raffle prizes will be given out as well.
For more information on the Bunco 4 Boobs event or to join the team visit www.walkers4life.com or call team captain Robin Shannon at 951-805-0747 |

Menifee resident, Leslie Kussman, is raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as she joins Orange County/Inland Empire Team in Training for the San Diego Rock 'N' Roll Marathon. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma while improving the quality of life for patients and their families. It is estimated over 138,000 Americans will be diagnosed with a blood cancer this year. Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer in children under 20 and alarmingly affects 10 times as many adults. Leslie understands that training for her first marathon will be challenging, however, it will be nothing compared to the challenge that those afflicted with leukemia or any other type of cancer face on a daily basis. If you would like to join Leslie in this fight, please use the link below to donate online quickly and securely plus learn more about her progress. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and you will be notified as soon as you make your donation. http://pages.teamintraining.org/ocie/rnr10/lkussman On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support.
