New Middle School Boundary |
|
| Article by Menifee Live Staff | Oct 03 2008 |
POSTED at Menifee Union School District Site:
The Menifee Union School District will be hosting two “Open Houses” on the pending middle school boundary changes on October 7th at Bell Mountain Middle School, and October 8th at Menifee Valley Middle School. The Governing Board is continuing to seek community input on the middle school boundary changes. The open house format does not include a formal presentation, but offers the community flexible time to review tentative maps of the potential boundary changes. District staff will be on hand to answer questions and to receive input from the community. Input forms will be used to collect the suggestions and comments and will be given to the Governing Board for consideration as we move toward a final decision. The community is invited to arrive at any time between 5:30pm – 7:00pm.
There will also be 3 seats available on the Menifee Union School District Board.
Members of the Governing Board are residents and taxpayers in our community. Any person is eligible to be a Board member, without further qualifications, if he/she is eighteen years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, a registered voter and not legally disqualified from holding civil office. (Education Code 35107)
The Board is a policy-making body and has the authority, acting as a unit, to contract for goods, employ personnel, establish a budget, and determine the educational programs of the District.
The Board employs a Superintendent of Schools who is the Chief Executive Officer of the District. The Superintendent is also the Secretary to the Board and prepares the Board’s agenda as well as maintains its records and files.
The Board meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Menifee Union School District Office, 30205 Menifee Road, unless otherwise posted. In addition, Special Board meetings may be scheduled to address issues as they arise.
The Board agenda is posted at each school site and the district office 72 hours prior to each meeting. Agendas for Special Board meetings are posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
We have a slate of candidates that have met the requirements and will be on the Nov 4th Ballot:
- Victor Giardinelli
- Manolito V. Vitug
- Randall T. Freeman
- Ron "Mr U" Ulibarri
- Phoeba A. Irey
