November 11 is set aside in commemoration of the end of hostilities in 1918 and 1945 and observed as a legal holiday in the United States to honor the veterans of the armed forces.

We are no doubt indebted to the men and women of distinguished courage. The way they serve Country is of an Honorable Character like no other. As we enjoy the Freedoms we live here in the United States, You our Heroes are forever remembered for Standing for that Freedom.

Who are our Veterans? Our Sons, Daughters, Mothers, Fathers, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Friends have gone to war from the infancy of our wonderful Country and precious freedoms. From the American Revolution to WWI and WWII to our current war in Iraq and other conflicts around the globe these Soldiers fought and still fight for the freedoms we often take for granted.

Inspired by our very own local resident Private Jesse DeLaCruz who enlisted in the Army in 2007 and while in Iraq he and 3 other soldiers were hit by a rocket propelled grenade while investigating a roadside bombing in early March of this year. Jesse lost his leg in the conflict but is back home now!
