Each year, across the nation, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. It’s a time and place where people come to celebrate those who have battled and survived cancer, remember those we’ve loved and lost to the disease, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives and takes too much we hold near and dear.
Cancer survivors, family, friends, community leaders, civic leaders, church members, -anyone who has ever been diagnosed or touched by cancer- are all invited to join the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Menifee. This is a unique fundraising event where cancer-fighting enthusiasts can join together in the fight against cancer. The Relay will be taking place the weekend of May 10-11, 2008 on the football field & track at Paloma Valley High School and it’s 24 hours not soon forgotten.
The American Cancer Society has been waging war against cancer for nearly a century, and our commitment to defeating the disease has never wavered. With the help of dollars and awareness raised by Relay, the American Cancer Society is making enormous progress in the fight against cancer. The Society has been a part of almost every major breakthrough in the fight against cancer! Right here in Menifee, the Society provides programs and services that improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. The funds raised during Relay For Life help support these local programs.
Volunteers are needed to recruit and organize teams, seek community support, find refreshments, food, and prizes, sponsor the event and lend your support in any way. By joining together at Relay, we celebrate life, friendship, and an opportunity to work together to create a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our family and friends.
Then drum up support, spread awareness and tell others about how much you care about this fight. Together as a community we can make the goal of a cancer-free world a reality. For more information contact Leslie Roman, Relay Manager, 951.203.8978 or leslie.roman@cancer.org
